ECOTOOLS FRESH AND FLAWLESS COMPLEXION SET.

Exciting news over on mydangerousobsession, I have been recruited by the lovely Carol over at MyPure to become a permanent blogger of the beauty items up for grabs over on the MyPure site – how exciting! Also at the bottom of this post is a 15% discount code, so check it out!

I have never used EcoTools make up brushes before and to be honest I didn’t really know much about the range, so I had a little dig around. Did you know that the brand was co-created and endorsed by the stunning actress Alicia Silverstone? Which makes sense as she is well known for being vegan and is a strong supporter of the animal rights charity PETA . Like all the products sold on the MyPure website, Ecotools are an environmentally friendly brand and completely cruelty free.

Each brush is made from incredibly soft, synthetic bristles, which are rooted into a beautifully artist-designed  recycled aluminium ferrules which runs into their signature sleek bamboo handles. The brushes in the set have small length handles which are perfect for when you are travelling.

For a make up brush novice this set is ideal, it comes with a short precise explanation for each brush on the inside of the packaging. The packaging also closes with a magnetic closure that is a lush place to storage your brushes - especially when travelling.  I decided on the five piece freshand flawless complexion set to review today.

The flat concealer brush

This is the first brush that comes in the set. The bristles are incredibly soft but rather firm, which makes it so ideal for applying and blending concealer into the skin to cover those nasty blemishes. I’ve been using this brush loads since receiving my set; everybody needs this brush in their collection.

The buffing concealer brush

This is the brush that slightly stumped me at first, and I didn’t really think that it would be something that I would use much, however once again I was wrong. The purpose of this brush is pretty similar to the foundation blending brush which I will get to a bit later. The brush helps to buff and blend out the concealer once it’s already on the skin. The flat top was really helpful when trying to lightly cover over my blemishes. This brush was ideal to use for under the eye coverage.

The precision foundation brush

This brush is tiny compared to other foundation brushes that I have previously used but you know what they say – quality not quantity. The pointed tip of the brush allows for absolute precision, let’s be honest it would take forever to use this brush to cover your whole face but it is perfect to use around the nose, eyes and ears.

The complexion blending brush

This is the brush I have probably used the most out of the five. When I’m in a rush and need to be heading out the door asap, this is my go to brush. I have used it for liquid, cream and powder foundation and it really does buff the foundation to create a lush flawless finish.

The full powder brush

Last but not least is the powder brush. I have used this brush to apply blusher, bronzer, finishing powder, the lot. I would normally go for a brush that is much more dense than this, however this brush does do the job. It is an extremely fluffy and soft little brush, that finishes off your look well.

My Verdict

If you couldn't already tell I love this little set. This set is perfectly ideal for somebody who has a small knowledge about make up brushes, and gives you a chance to learn with good brushes without breaking the bank. Its a lush little brush set that is perfect for compact and perfect for travel yet versatile and functional!
