BOHEMIAN FUR.

Hey guys, just a quick one today as I’m heading off to my nephews christening this morning.
I wanted to save this outfit until my new thigh high boots came, but they were taking too long, and I just love this outfit so wanted to share it asap.

I am absolutely loving this shirt dress from Matalan, I’ve definitely worn it to death since I’ve had it – its mega easy to dress up with some killer heels, or casually with some day boots and a coat. I think it has a bohemian look about it, and the pattern on it is so lush. I love the splash of red against the monochrome patterning.

This fur gilet is also a steal from Matalan and think it looks lush with the shirt dress, but again is very versatile and can be worn with pretty much anything! Faux fur is literally everywhere at the moment, which makes me very happy as I’ve always had a thing for faux fur. I think the fur gilets are going to be a staple piece in my wardrobe season after season!
These two Matalan items aren't online anymore, but they are definitely still in shops, as I went on the hunt to make sure you could still get them, so get down to your local Matalan ASAP.

I thought I’d add another splash of red to the outfit on my lips, so I’m wearing Alva Lip Liner 2 (featured here on my blog) and Barbara Daly ‘Mulberry’ Lipstick. Mwah!!

Bloggers help needed - can anyone recommend any good web/blog designers? I think the blog needs a bit of TLC,  just leave a comment below so I can check them out, thanks :)

ECOTOOLS FRESH AND FLAWLESS COMPLEXION SET.

Exciting news over on mydangerousobsession, I have been recruited by the lovely Carol over at MyPure to become a permanent blogger of the beauty items up for grabs over on the MyPure site – how exciting! Also at the bottom of this post is a 15% discount code, so check it out!

I have never used EcoTools make up brushes before and to be honest I didn’t really know much about the range, so I had a little dig around. Did you know that the brand was co-created and endorsed by the stunning actress Alicia Silverstone? Which makes sense as she is well known for being vegan and is a strong supporter of the animal rights charity PETA . Like all the products sold on the MyPure website, Ecotools are an environmentally friendly brand and completely cruelty free.

Each brush is made from incredibly soft, synthetic bristles, which are rooted into a beautifully artist-designed  recycled aluminium ferrules which runs into their signature sleek bamboo handles. The brushes in the set have small length handles which are perfect for when you are travelling.

For a make up brush novice this set is ideal, it comes with a short precise explanation for each brush on the inside of the packaging. The packaging also closes with a magnetic closure that is a lush place to storage your brushes - especially when travelling.  I decided on the five piece freshand flawless complexion set to review today.

The flat concealer brush

This is the first brush that comes in the set. The bristles are incredibly soft but rather firm, which makes it so ideal for applying and blending concealer into the skin to cover those nasty blemishes. I’ve been using this brush loads since receiving my set; everybody needs this brush in their collection.

The buffing concealer brush

This is the brush that slightly stumped me at first, and I didn’t really think that it would be something that I would use much, however once again I was wrong. The purpose of this brush is pretty similar to the foundation blending brush which I will get to a bit later. The brush helps to buff and blend out the concealer once it’s already on the skin. The flat top was really helpful when trying to lightly cover over my blemishes. This brush was ideal to use for under the eye coverage.

The precision foundation brush

This brush is tiny compared to other foundation brushes that I have previously used but you know what they say – quality not quantity. The pointed tip of the brush allows for absolute precision, let’s be honest it would take forever to use this brush to cover your whole face but it is perfect to use around the nose, eyes and ears.

The complexion blending brush

This is the brush I have probably used the most out of the five. When I’m in a rush and need to be heading out the door asap, this is my go to brush. I have used it for liquid, cream and powder foundation and it really does buff the foundation to create a lush flawless finish.

The full powder brush

Last but not least is the powder brush. I have used this brush to apply blusher, bronzer, finishing powder, the lot. I would normally go for a brush that is much more dense than this, however this brush does do the job. It is an extremely fluffy and soft little brush, that finishes off your look well.

My Verdict

If you couldn't already tell I love this little set. This set is perfectly ideal for somebody who has a small knowledge about make up brushes, and gives you a chance to learn with good brushes without breaking the bank. Its a lush little brush set that is perfect for compact and perfect for travel yet versatile and functional!

Please leave a comment if you have used these brushes before and what your thoughts on them.

INIKA ROSEHIP CREME COLOUR FOR CHEEKS AND LIPS

So I managed to get my hands on the recently released rosehip creme colour for lips and cheeks, and oh boy I love it.

To be honest, it was slightly on the pricey side for me as it's only 2g in weight and comes in at £17 however when I think of all the pros of this product, I would pay the price again. You can get the product from My Pure here. Firstly as with all Inika products they are all completely natural, organic, vegan products. No products released by Inika are tested on animals, which for me is a huge plus.

The dual purpose creme colour is rich in pigment and gives a lush vibrant colour on both lips and cheeks which lasts a prolonged time. Personally I preferred to use the product on my cheeks as it gives a natural flush of colour, that leaves your cheeks glowing for well over 5 hours. I love that you need to use a miminal amount of the product for maximum effect. As I have a fairly pale skin complexion I could literally use a dab of the cream to give my skin a natural healthy flush of colour. As for the colour on the lips, it's not a colour that I would use often as I have many beautiful lipsticks to choose from but it does last well. The pigment in Inika products is undiluted and therefore pure so expect fab coverage from the product.

If you are one for travelling lightly then this product is for you. It's small in size and has a dual purpose! Just pack some eye makeup and foundation and you are good to go. The packing of this product and other Inika products is completely up my street, it is very similar to that of Mac and KIKO products - a simple black casing with minimal writing on it.

Swatch of the colour that I used on my lips.
Swatch of the colour when blended more for cheeks.

Sorry for how long its taken for me to blog recently. Been mega busy, promise I'll try and organise myself better.

love and kisses

IN THE NAVY.

So my first outfit post of the month and I am totally in love with this outfit!

First of all, how amazing are my boots?! They are from the one and only Matalan, yup you read that correctly, Matalan! They are just so beautiful. Navy isn’t a colour that I normally opt for, but it would have been a complete outrage to leave them behind. If you pop into your local shop, you’ll be able to grab them for a nifty little £28. They also come in grey, which I would have brought also if they had my size. Maybe an online purchase is needed…

I think they matched perfectly to my friends Michael Kors Bag. I really need this bag; it’s just so simple and classic. Every girl needs one.

And finally my new lip liner and lipstick combo, which is hardly leaving my lips recently, it’s the same as in my last blogpost - Alvalip liner 2 in ‘Reddy brown’ and the Babara Daly lipstick in ‘Mulberry’. I absolutely love this colour combo.

Jeans - Primark (similar here
Bag - Michael Kors

A huge thank you goes over to LJ for helping get these pictures in before the heavens opened. Go have a look at her photography on either Facebook or Instagram

ALVA LIP LINER 2.

Alva is another beauty brand that prides themselves on being a certified organic, cruelty-free, vegan company. They sell a wide collection of beauty products ranging from anti-aging treatments to men’s grooming to make up all of which are suitable for vegans.

As In my previous beauty review on the Inika mineral lipstick, I have found a new love for lip liners. To be honest with you, it’s only been in the last few months that I have properly discovered lip liners, and now I can not get enough of them. I decided upon the 'reddy brown lip liner’ as opposed to the 'soft rose' Alva lip liners, purely because I love a dark lip through the autumn months especially with a darker added lip liner to frame and accentuate the lip.

I can’t say that Alva lip liners are the the best in the world as I still have loads of different brands to try out, but I would definitely recommend it to others. The lip liner has a very soft texture, and glides onto your lips with ease. The colour is very strong, and true to the colour shown on the MyPure website. The liner also contains patented beta glucan which is meant to be great for those of you with sensitive skin. The liner has a good staying power on the lips, and lasted a good 5-6 hours especially through both eating and drinking, which is what I spend most of my time doing, so for me, it is ideal.

You can grab the lip liner in both the ‘reddy brown’ and the ‘soft rose’ colours from the MyPure website for £11. However, keep an eye out as they often have special offers on, so you can grab yourself a bargain.

In the swatch, I have paired the lip liner with a dark red lipstick from theBabara Daly range.  It’s called Mulberry and is fab for a day-to-night lip colour. The lipstick has a plumping formula that give a polished look with a lush pop of colour. The swatch doesn;t show the true colour of the lipstick, and they match a lot better in real life. However I think this is perfect pairing for the lipliner to give a beaut accentuated lip for both day and night.

Have you used this brand of make up before? What were our thoughts?
Also, have you got any lipstick-lip liner combos that you would recommend?
