LIVING NATURE ILLUMINATING FOUNDATION REVIEW.

It's been a month or so since I last did a review for the MyPure Website, in fact this will be my first one this year.  I always find it so hard to decide on an item as they have so many wonderful products. However today I have decided to head back to the Living Nature products, after reviewing the Living Nature Concealer back in December (read it here) and falling in love with it, I thought I’d see how I’d get on with their soft lights illuminating foundation.

The foundation comes in three different shades (Dawn Glow for light complexions, Day Glow for medium complexions and Evening Glow for darker or tanned complexions), I decided to go with the ‘Day Glow’ shade as hopefully the sun will be showing itself soon and I’ll stop looking like a milk bottle. Living Nature claim that this foundation will ‘give your complexion a soft radiance and minimises the appearance of fine lines’

Similarly to the concealer, the foundation comes in a black recyclable cardboard box packaging. Inside the box is a thick glass rounded tube with a black pump at the top. The pump does not come with a lid, but if you turn it anticlockwise the pump locks so you don’t need to worry about it escaping from the bottle inside your bag.

Make sure you shake the foundation well before you use it, as the first six/seven pumps were just a watery oil that ran everywhere. However after that, you are good to go. The foundation has a silky, creamy texture to it, but once applied to the face, it blends in extremely easily, needing only a tiny bit to cover the whole face. The foundation is extremely light and does not actually feel like you have anything on your face. I use my Ecotool foundation brush (read my review on the brushes here) and Model's Own blending sponge to apply and blend in the foundation to my face.
I found that as this foundation only gave a very light coverage to the face, so I occasionally use my Mac foundation first and then apply the Living Nature illuminating foundation, and its gives an absolutely gorgeous glow to the face.

I really like this product, and the dewy glow that it leaves on my skin, Having said that, if you are having a really bad skin day, you can't use this product alone. Although the product is a bit pricey coming in at £29.50, it honestly lasts forever, I've been using the product for a month or so now, and the bottle is still basically full. I would definitely recommend this product, if you are looking for a product to help brighten up your everyday foundation, and to help highlight certain areas of the face then this is the product is definitely for you.

You can buy this product from the MyPure site here, go on treat yourselves :) If you head over to the MyPure site today, they have special offer on, so you can save yourselves a couple of pounds!

Until next time

A STRIPE OF RED.

As I mentioned in my last personal style post, I brought so many beautiful pieces in the January sales, that I can't stop showing you all my purchases. This post will involve a whole lot of Zara loving. The more I looked in the sale, the more I found. A sale that just kept on giving! These trousers have been popping up in the blogosphere for a while now, and surely you can see why. They are such a beautiful shape and they were reduced to £9.99, how many gorgeous trousers have you seen for that price? I absolutely love them, my only regret was going up a size when I ordered them online. I normally find with Zara trousers that they aren't long enough in the leg, so I decided to size up and typically now the trousers are so long that I can only wear them with heels. These trousers give off such a sports luxe vibe, I am completely in love with them.
I tried to keep this outfit fairly simple and monochrome, as I didn't want to take away from the beautiful trousers, but let me draw attention to my amazing new faux leather jacket. Anyone who knows me well, will know that I live in my leather jackets all the time, I think this is now number 6 in my collection. How could I not pick it up in the sale at only £16!! I know right, £16!! I'm pretty sure it's sold out, but I've tried to fine some cheap alternatives.

Top - Zara (sale)
Shoes - Matalan (sale) (similar here, here)
Bag - Select (old) (similar here)

Sorry for the lack of outfit posts recently, I will try and get back on track as soon as possible. I hope you have been enjoying reading my beauty posts. I would love to know what you would like to see up on My Dangerous Obsession over the next few months, please leave and comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Until next time

NEW PRODUCT ALERT - BENEFITS ROLLER LASH MASCARA REVIEW.

So when you thought Benefit couldn’t get any better, they bring out a new mascara to rival that of their previous iconic, award winning, best-selling mascara of last year, the They’re Real Mascara. However, could the new Roller Lash Mascara, be the new product to top their record breaking success?

The Roller Lash is designed to lift and curl the lashes in one simple sweep with the eye-opening Hook ‘n’ Roll brush.  Finally a mascara that does exactly what it says on the tin. A few coats later, my lashes looked deliciously curled with a beautifully black satin finish. This mascara is quickly becoming my go-to mascara in the vast range of mascaras lurking in my makeup bag. It’s perfect for the everyday minimal makeup look, and really helps to open up my eyes. The brush is magical, it adds length to your lashes by each stroke, without creating any clumps. The only downfall of this lush mascara is that it doesn’t help to add volume to your lashes, so when wanting a more dramatic look, I tend to stay with my Younique 3D mascara (read my review here) or add another mascara on top of Roller Lash Mascara.

I managed to nab the lastest edition of ELLE magazine which had this mini version of the Roller Lash, but it is now on sale for £19.50 directly from the Benefit Website. A fairly large price tag, but definitely worth every penny, so stop what you are doing and get yourself down to your local Benefit counter om the 27th February or pre-order it online now!!

Did you manage to grab a copy of the ELLE magazine? What do you think of it?

Until next time

Love and kisses

w7 IN THE BUFF: LIGHTLY TOASTED PALETTE REVIEW.

Up for review today is the w7 In The Buff: Lightly Toasted palette.
This palette contains 12 beautiful eye shadows shades mixing both nude shimmers and matte colours. I couldnt wait to test out each of the colours, and create some beautiful looks, and for a small £9.99 for 12 eyeshadows you really cant complain. Although the palette eye shadows are clearly inspired by the popular Urban Decay Naked palette, this palette really does come into its own.

Eye Shadows from left to right:
Teddy Bear, Wonderland, Cracker, Happy, Lady Luck, Twister, DiDi, Delilah, Magic, Its a Dream, Up in Smoke, Dawn

I was really impressed with the pigmentation of the eye shadows, the cheaper price tag in this case has really not hindered the quality of the eye shadows. You do occasionally need to build up the colour especially the lighter matte shades, however after a two, sometimes three applications the eye shadows really do give a beautiful colour. The eye shadows are really easy to blend together to form a lovely natural look.  The eye shadows do give quite a bit of fall out especially the shimmery colours, so after using the palette a few times, I have found that it becomes a tad messy. I used the MUA pro-base eye primer (see my review of the eye primer here) before applying the eye shadow and it definitely helped to improve the staying power of the eyeshadows by a couple of hours so I would definitely recommend this, and at only £2.50  this still comes in way under the price of the Urban Decay palette. However when not using the primer the eye shadows lasts for about 4 hours without creasing.

The palette comes with a double ended brush, one end is a small eye shadow brush, the other is a sponge applicator. I have mainly been using my own Makeup Revolution or EcoTools brush to apply the eye shadows, but the brush in handy for if travelling and wanting to take the palette with you.

If you are looking for a eye shadow palette which a mixture of matte and shimmery natural tones whilst on a budget then this is the palette for you. I would definitely recommend treating yourself to a eye primer to use with the palette just to help the staying power of the palette. You can purchase the palette directly from the w7 website. Get it now, and thank me later girls.

Until next time

MUA PRO-BASE EYE PRIMER REVIEW.

I honestly had never know the amazing-ness of using a primer before applying eye shadow until now. I have to admit that as I haven't used an eye primer before I have nothing to compare it with, but nonetheless, I couldn't believe how much of a difference it made. I picked up this product about a month ago in my random supderdrug haul, I wasn't planning on reviewing this for my blog, but had quite a few people asking me how I got on with it, so here goes.

To apply the eye primer, I dabbed the doe foot applicator onto the eye lids, and the gently blended the product in with my finger. The primer itself is quite thick and cream like, but very easy to apply and blend it. Upon blending the MUA primer, it settles into a powder matte finish. The primer is slightly tinted to a nude/very light skin tone so as well as providing a good base for the eyeshadow, it also helps to even out your skin tone on the eyelids too which helps to give a even coverage all over the eye lid once the shadow has been applied.
I found that the primer did help to prolong the time the eye shadow lasted by a good couple of hours (around 4/5hours) than when not using it. I found that the primer does help increase the vibrancy of the eye shadow as you can see in a picture below but not a huge amount but enough to make the colour pop better than without the primer.

The top swatch is from the Makeup Revolution palette WITHOUT the primer.
The bottom swatch is WITH the primer.

As I said I haven't use an eye primer before, so I cant compare this to the likes of the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion or Benefit's stay don't stray primer, but for price this MUA product undercuts both by well over £15. For price (£2.50) I think that the MUA pro-base eye primer product is great value for money. Due to this I think that the product is definitely worth a try!!
You can buy the product from Superdrug online and instore or from the MUA online store

Until next time

THE BOOTS OF JANUARY.

I feel that I am seriously dragging out the sales shopping posts and I still have another 2, possibly 3 posts planned but I can't stop shopping, especially in the Zara sale,  the more I look, the more I find. To add to that, I gave myself a full price shopping ban throughout January so anything I brought last month was in the sale, January was for bargain hunting!

This is my second look to include my gorgeous two tone fur cape from the Next Sale, and the look is completely different, this is a more casual day to day outfit which I have worn many times out shopping, for lunch etc. I managed to nab this roll neck cape from the Next sale too. I had been eyeing it up for ages at full price but wasn't completely sold, so when it cropped up in the sale, I just couldn't walk away. The two tone cape and the roll neck are a beautiful pair made in heaven, so comfy and warm. Yaay.

These boots are just amazing, beautiful, I love them and am still in love with them. They are pushing on my favourite sale buy, you must love them as much as I do. Beautiful.
This mega cute little bag is from h&m from last summer, I use it all the time so I have no idea why it's only just jumping up on my blog, but luckily for you guys it's still in the shops, so you can still go and grab it, its just not online anymore. It also comes in red, which is also cuteee.

I have invested in even more gorgeous jewellery from BohoMoon, I think that I maybe becoming slightly addicted to their beautiful pieces, go have a little nose on their site.

W7 ABSOLUTE LASHES MASCARA REVIEW

I haven't read many reviews of w7 products, so when a little w7 package came through my door from the lovely Olivia from AquaPR, I couldn't wait to form my own opinion on the products. From what I have heard the brand w7 have been growing from strength to strength recently producing dupes from high end beauty companies.

The first review of the bunch is this beaut little mascara – Absolute Lashes Mascara.  As always I’ve been on the hunt for a new everyday mascara that would make my lashes effortless long and glamorous without breaking the bank.
When I received this mascara I couldn’t help but notice the similarities to Benefit’s They’re Real mascara. The packaging, tube shape and design are nearly identical. The wand of the w7 mascara is plastic but very flexible so work well with the lashes, the wand also has a small ball of short bristles at the very tip to help coat all the lashes, even the tiny little ones that are normally easily missed.
I love the look I gained from using this mascara, but I did need to use a few coats to help with lengthening my lashes. The mascara gave a lovely natural look to my lashes without any clumps. When wanting a more glamourous night time look, I needed to use a volumising mascara alongside the w7 absolute lashes mascara.
Whilst wearing this mascara, both during the day, and when reapplied for a night out, I noticed no flaking, no smudging, and no panda eyes from the rain so I can't complain at all especially for the tiny price tag. I wore this mascara for well over 15 hours without reapplying and there was no change from when I had applied it that morning.

The left eye has two coats of the w7 mascara compared to the right eye which has one.
View from above, both eyes have two coats of mascara.
First of all apologises for the quality of the pictures of the mascara on, I has an issue with my DSLR so had to use my phone. Anyway back to the mascara,  I would highly recommend this product in terms of quality and price. You can pick up this beaut for a tiny £6.95 on the w7 website, a saving of over £12 from the Benefit They're Real Mascara. If you are looking for a everyday mascara to give your lashes a lovely natural look without breaking the bank then this mascara is definitely for you.

Until next time
